These are the terms of using Stet. They're meant to be readable. The short version is below; the slightly longer version follows.

The short version

  • Your notes belong to you.
  • Don't use Stet to do illegal things or to harm other people.
  • Stet is provided as-is, without warranties.
  • If something stops working, we'll do our best to fix it.
  • You can leave any time and take your notes with you.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials safe. If someone else gets into your account, we can't tell that they're not you.

Your content

Anything you write in Stet is yours. We don't claim ownership of your notes. We only store and transmit them on your behalf so that you can read them on your other devices or share them with people you choose.

You're responsible for what you write. Don't use Stet to store or share material that's illegal, harmful, or infringes on someone else's rights.

Acceptable use

  • No spam. No malware. No phishing pages dressed up as shared notes.
  • No automated abuse — don't try to scrape, overwhelm, or reverse-engineer the service.
  • No content that's illegal where you live or where our servers run.

If you do these things, we may suspend your account. If it's serious, we may delete it.

Service availability

Stet is offered "as-is" and "as-available." We aim for it to work, but we don't promise uptime numbers, and we're not liable for indirect or consequential damages if it doesn't. The total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us, which — while we're free — is zero.

Changes

If we change these terms in a way that materially affects you, we'll tell you (in-app or by email) before the change takes effect.

Ending things

You can stop using Stet and delete your account at any time. We can stop offering the service, or close your account, if you violate these terms or if we wind the service down — in the latter case, we'll give you time and a way to export your notes first.
